Nashik Kumbh: ₹3,954 Crore Ring Road Approved, Major Infra Push Ahead of Simhastha 2027

The Maharashtra government has granted administrative approval for civil construction works worth ₹3,954 crore for the 69.15-km Nashik Ring Road project ahead of Simhastha Kumbh Mela 2027. The decision was taken during a review meeting of the Nashik–Trimbakeshwar Kumbh Mela Authority (NTKMA) chaired by Divisional Commissioner Dr. Pravin Gedam.

Key Highlights
The proposed Nashik Ring Road will begin from DRDO Junction (NH-60), circle the city, and reconnect to the same corridor.
The 4/6-lane corridor will include:
5 major bridges
2 railway overbridges
8 vehicular underpasses
Service roads
Connectivity with 4 National Highways and 4 State Highways
The project is expected to:
Reduce city congestion
Improve regional connectivity
Ease Simhastha Kumbh traffic movement
Support long-term urban mobility planning for Nashik
Other Infrastructure Projects Approved
Along with the Ring Road, several religious tourism, connectivity, and infrastructure projects were sanctioned:
Riverfront & Pilgrimage Development
₹44.53 crore approved for a 300-metre ghat near the Godavari–Nandini river confluence at Takli.
₹7.09 crore sanctioned for flag masts at Ramkund and Kushavart Tirth.
Trimbakeshwar & Eco Tourism
₹23.12 crore approved for:
Brahmagiri Pradakshina routes
Eco-tourism development at Anjaneri
Road & Mobility Projects
₹20.22 crore sanctioned for road development from Panchavati’s Karma Heights to Tapovan STP and Nandur village.
₹10.24 crore approved for an Integrated Mobility Plan by IIM Nagpur for scientific traffic planning during Simhastha 2027.
Healthcare & Regional Development
₹1.72 crore sanctioned for strengthening and relocating the Trimbakeshwar sub-district hospital.
Additional approvals:
Kawnai (Kapildhara Tirth): ₹27.47 crore
Chakratirth area: ₹24.10 crore
Taked infrastructure works: ₹21.91 crore
