Defence Minister Rajnath Singh inaugurated the third production line of the Light Combat Aircraft Tejas Mk1A and the second production line of the Hindustan Turbo Trainer-40 at HAL’s Nashik facility on Friday. He also flagged off the first LCA Tejas Mk1A produced at the Nashik facility.
Calling it a major boost to India’s defence manufacturing capabilities, Singh highlighted the growing importance of advanced technology in modern warfare. He said that Artificial Intelligence, cyber warfare, drone systems and next-generation aircraft are shaping the future of defence, with wars now being fought across multiple frontiers.
Emphasising the need for India to stay ahead in this new race, Singh urged HAL to expand its focus beyond conventional aircraft and make a strong mark in next-generation aircraft, unmanned systems and civil aviation.
The development further strengthens Nashik’s position as an important aerospace and defence manufacturing hub, while supporting India’s larger vision of self-reliance in defence production.
