Speaking at the closing ceremony of the Kumbh Udyog Sangam and Nashik Investment Summit 2026, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced that Nashik is poised to emerge as a major growth engine for Maharashtra, backed by ₹33,000 crore worth of infrastructure and development projects linked to the upcoming Simhastha Kumbh Mela.

Highlighting Nashik’s religious, spiritual, and economic importance, the Chief Minister said the city is entering a new era of industrial growth, investment inflow, and employment generation. He stated that the mega Simhastha Kumbh Mela, scheduled between October 31, 2026 and July 24, 2028, will accelerate long-term infrastructure transformation across the district.

Fadnavis emphasized that Nashik’s development momentum will now become unstoppable, with enhanced connectivity, industrial expansion, logistics infrastructure, and large-scale investment opportunities driving the region forward.

₹13,190 Crore Investment Agreements Signed

During the summit, Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) worth ₹13,190 crore were signed with more than 300 industrialists, expected to generate nearly 32,000 employment opportunities across sectors including electronics, automobiles, textiles, agriculture, and services.

According to the Chief Minister, Nashik has already attracted investments worth ₹31,945 crore over the last three years, creating employment potential for over 66,000 people. He added that nearly 77% of previously signed MoUs have already been implemented successfully.

Nashik Emerging as North Maharashtra’s Industrial Magnet

Fadnavis described Nashik as a newly emerging industrial magnet in North Maharashtra, with major industrial groups and companies such as Mahindra & Mahindra expanding investments in the district.

He revealed that Nashik has attracted nearly ₹57,000 crore in investments over the last two years, including proposals finalized during the World Economic Forum in Davos.

The Chief Minister further stated that the state government aims to ensure balanced regional development by transforming every district into a center of economic activity rather than concentrating growth only around Mumbai and Pune.

₹3 Lakh Crore Economic Potential in the Next Decade

The ₹33,000 crore Kumbh-focused infrastructure investment will include major upgrades in roads, communication networks, logistics, dry ports, ring roads, airport expansion, and railway connectivity.

Fadnavis projected that these developments could help create a ₹3 lakh crore economy in Nashik district within the next 10 years, while also boosting tourism, industries, real estate, and entrepreneurship.

He also highlighted the government’s focus on environmental initiatives, including the purification and conservation of the Godavari River alongside urban development projects.

Strong Push for Startups and Ease of Doing Business

The Chief Minister noted that Maharashtra has become India’s startup capital with over 30,000 startups operating across the state. He credited the state’s industry-friendly policies and the Maitri facilitation platform for simplifying investment approvals and improving investor confidence.

Industries Minister Uday Samant added that the Maitri platform is actively helping resolve industrial and business-related concerns efficiently.

The summit also saw participation from senior ministers including Girish Mahajan, Dada Bhuse, and other government officials and industry leaders.
