₹19,142 Crore Nashik–Solapur Corridor Approved, Travel Time To Drop Nearly By Half
In a major boost to Maharashtra’s infrastructure, the Union Cabinet has approved the construction of a 374 km-long Nashik–Solapur–Akkalkot corridor, set to transform connectivity across the state.
Faster Travel, Stronger Connectivity
Designed as a six-lane, access-controlled greenfield expressway, the corridor will significantly cut travel time between the west and east regions of Maharashtra. What currently takes around 31 hours will now be reduced to just 17 hours, offering a faster and more efficient travel experience.
Built For Speed And Efficiency
The highway will support:
Average speeds of 60 km/h
Design speed of up to 100 km/h
Closed tolling system for seamless movement
This ensures smoother traffic flow with minimal interruptions.
Strategic Investment In Growth
The project will be developed at an estimated cost of ₹19,142 crore under the Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) model. Beyond improving connectivity, the corridor is expected to:
Boost trade and logistics
Strengthen regional connectivity
Accelerate industrial and economic growth
Connecting Maharashtra Like Never Before
By linking Nashik to Solapur and Akkalkot, the corridor will act as a crucial route connecting the western belt to the eastern regions—reducing congestion on existing highways and opening new opportunities for development.
